The Subclass 300 Prospective Marriage Visa is a temporary visa that allows a person to come to Australia to marry their fiancé(e), who must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa must be applied for offshore.
Once granted, the visa holder must marry their sponsor within 9 months. After marriage, the applicant can apply for an onshore Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801).
